Dr Shawn Walker will present a seminar on ‘How midwives can provide evidence-based care for vaginal breech birth’ on Thursday 18th April at 11am.

Shawn Walker, RM, PhD is clinical academic consultant midwife, based at King’s College London. She has researched how to improve competence, confidence, and safety in vaginal breech birth for over 14 years. She recently completed an NIHR Advanced Fellowship, in which she led the pilot work for the OptiBreech Trial, a multi-centre study of a new multi-disciplinary breech care pathway (https://optibreech.uk). She is also a Researcher in Residence at Imperial College London, a role focused on supporting health care professionals in clinical academic career pathways. She holds an honorary contract across multiple London hospitals to support complex physiological births.
