Roisin is an expert in sustainable healthcare practices. Roisin has been at the forefront of this field since 2021, when she began working on the HSE’s Climate Action Strategy. As the Programme Manager for the strategy’s development, Roisin now coordinates the next phase, focusing on environmentally and socially sustainable healthcare. Her work also includes guiding the development of frameworks for action, ensuring the HSE can work towards achieving net zero by 2050.

Roisin’s extensive background as a Physiotherapist and Programme Manager, along with her experience in quality improvement and national clinical programmes, positions her uniquely to guide us in integrating sustainability into midwifery care.

This seminar will dive deep into the strategies and practical steps midwives and maternity care professionals can take to reduce waste, lower their carbon footprint, and promote eco-friendly practices while maintaining excellent care for women, birthing people and babies.
