Gillian Campbell
Gillian is a registered midwife, currently based at the Royal Jubilee Maternity Hospital and is deeply committed to providing compassionate care to families experiencing pregnancy and baby loss. Since 2021, she has worked alongside Barbara Gergett, supporting bereaved families through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Together, they guide families through pregnancy loss, palliative care, and childbirth reviews following traumatic birth experiences. They also work closely with the fetal medicine team, offering care to those navigating uncertainty or complex decisions during pregnancy. Grounded in empathy and sensitive communication, her role centres on helping families feel informed, supported, and empowered to make the choices that are right for them.
Barbara Gergett
Barbara has worked as the Childbirth and Loss Midwife in Royal Jubilee Maternity Hospital since May 2017. She works alongside Gillian Campbell, together caring for families who have experienced a pregnancy loss at any gestation, or following the loss of their baby in the neonatal period. Barbara works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide evidence informed, timely and empathetic bereavement care. She recognises the complex and varied needs of each woman and her extended family. She endeavours to support and encourage parents to spend time with their baby, creating memories which will last a lifetime. Barbara understands the importance of timely and compassionate care at every step of a family’s bereavement journey and encourages all members of staff to recognise the significance and value of their role.
Sandra Mulholland
Sandra qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1993 and a Midwife in 1996. The aim of PMRT is to support service improvement and give answers to grieving women and their families.
